Bearcat escapes from Aussie zoo
Oct. 30 - Police in Australia wrestle a bearcat and return it to the Melbourne Zoo after it escaped from its enclosure.
The escaped bearcat alarmed passing motorists who throught it was a panther. Bearcats are native to southeast Asian rainforests. They have thick, black fur, a long bushy-tail and small rounded ears, and are roughly the size of a labrador dog. Melbourne Zoo officials are now trying to determine how Chinta was able to escape from his new enclosure.
Helen Long reports.
